Stay With Me - PRINT

Stay With Me is a still life inspired by the iconic Greek myth of Hades and Persephone. The narcissus flowers represent Hades, god of the Underworld, as they are associated with mourning and grief. It is said that narcissus began blooming in the Underworld because of Persephone’s connection to Hades. The pomegranate represents Persephone, goddess of Spring and queen of the Underworld, and her binding to that realm after eating six of the seeds. The pomegranate also symbolizes the marriage of Hades and Persephone and the link they created between the living and the dead.
